Telescopic lift trucks
Telescopic forklift units are equipped with a pronged lift on an arm which extends over the top of the truck offering versatility and great height. The arm, or crane, is referred to as a telescopic boom. The boom allows the person using it to lift the load to great heights while maintaining a high degree of control. Standard lift trucks could not move the cargo towards and away from the forklift cab, whereas a telescopic forklift can allow that movement. The telescopic forklift is commonly used in both agriculture and construction. It is recommended for applications where greater control and lift is necessary.
In situations needing high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments known as forklift carton clamp attachments are better. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings which allow the operator to use uniform clamping force when lifting a load. It is available with a backrest which protects the cargo from damage.
A slip sheet attachment fits onto a slip sheet forklift. It is used for storing systems which don't use pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forklift forks. This type of system is useful for intra-corporate deliveries and for overseas shipments.
A lift platform that is designed to hoist personnel is known as a Man Basket. It attaches to the forklift forks and a strap or chain is used to attach the basket to the forklift carriage. The platform has railings to protect the staff from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are utilized for fastening the safety harness of the worker.
