Today many corporations are trying to be as environmentally responsible as possible. There are demanding cleaner products to use in their place of business. In order to meet all these expectations, lift truck companies and their suppliers are considering cleaner burning energy sources and other fuel ideas.
Technology is now able to help manufacturers build models that when compare to their IC or internal combustion counterparts utilize less overall energy, reduce carbon footprints and cost less to operate. These new designs are creating an obvious shift within the forklift market. A lot of manufacturers have since been encouraged to invest more into the development and research of these emerging equipment.
Roughly 60 percent of today's lift truck market is represented by electric models. This is up from around 45% roughly 20 years ago. Increasingly more businesses and corporations are enjoying less operating expenses by choosing electric. Like for example, the cost efficiency alone in regards to the maintenance and fuel costs save companies thousands of dollars. The electric units compared to internal combustion models, provide a longer life to the fleet and the less emissions in the facility enable much better air quality for those working inside.
Reduced Emissions: There is a better overall improvement in operating condition because these models do not emit carbons and carcinogens. This has resulted in better health for all workers working near lift trucks.
Reduced Expenses: Lower operating costs have resulted from less moving parts and the reduction in heat being produced.
Less Fuel Expenses: When properly taken care of and maintained, chargers and batteries cost considerably less than Liquid Propane models and the electric units provide better costs and more stability.
Improved Operator Ergonomics: There is much vibration and heat produced by IC or internal combustion Engines. Both of these situations could really contribute to operator fatigue.
