Kinds of Aisles
Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are classed due to the types of aisles they have been designed to operate in. These machinery are able to turn in an aisle, while Very Narrow Aisle trucks really don't turn within the aisle. There are some aisle widths to consider with different models.
Very Narrow Aisle trucks could work in less than 6 feet places, while some would utilize specific guidance systems such as optical, rail or wire systems in order to travel within the aisles. Some different models of VNA trucks include Order Selectors, Turret Trucks and Swing Masts. These are common kinds in tight retail spaces and in some warehouse and storage situations.
Narrow Aisle trucks could work within aisles from 8 feet to 10 feet wide. Normally these are stand-up units like Reach Trucks. They are usually utilized in warehouses and storage facilities.
The wide aisle forklift is designed to work in aisles more than 8 feet to 10 feet.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The "Ergomat" padding on stand-up units offer padding on a sloped floorboard. These features are designed to lessen operator exhaustion by absorbing vibration. The operator compartment is big and has an 8" low step height which helps lessen overall body exhaustion by easing frequent exit and entry. The unit includes polyurethane steer tires to absorb shocks and vibration caused by uneven floor in order to allow smooth traveling. For added comfort, there is a floor mat and a cushioned armrest along with a backrest designed to help keep operators comfortable and therefore more effective while limiting exhaustion.
